Depression
Depression (major depressive disorder) is a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act. Fortunately, it is treatable. Depression causes feelings of sadness and/or a loss of interest in activities you once enjoyed. It can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems and can decrease your ability to function at work and at home.
OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder)
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a mental illness, with a chronic (long-lasting) state of anxiety. It traps people in a constant cycle of repeated obsessions and compulsions: People with OCD have uncontrollable obsessions (fears, thoughts or urges). They try to lessen anxiety with repetitive actions, called compulsions. OCD causes distress and interferes with normal life. It usually starts when people are younger, from childhood to early adulthood.
Schizophrenia
Schizophrenia is a serious mental disorder in which people interpret reality abnormally. Schizophrenia may result in some combination of hallucinations, delusions, and extremely disordered thinking and behavior that impairs daily functioning, and can be disabling. Symptoms of schizophrenia usually first appear in early adulthood and must persist for at least six months for a diagnosis to be made. Men often experience initial symptoms in their late teens or early 20s while women tend to show first signs of the illness in their 20s and early 30s.
Personality Development
A pleasing personality of a person enables good interaction with others and also enables the person to achieve a lot. But if personality disorder traits - short temper, aggression, insincerity, cruelty, poor coping skills, poor communicative skills, sadism, etc - are dominating a personality then social interaction is impaired. And that would affect all aspects of personal, interpersonal and social interactions.
Anxiety Disorders
Anxiety is a feeling of unease, such as worry or fear, that can be mild or severe. Everyone has feelings of anxiety at some point in their life. However, people with anxiety disorders frequently have intense, excessive and persistent worry and fear about everyday situations. Often, anxiety disorders involve repeated episodes of sudden feelings of intense anxiety and fear or terror that reach a peak within minutes (panic attacks). These feelings of anxiety and panic interfere with daily activities, are difficult to control, are out of proportion to the actual danger and can last a long time.
